I’m helping level up my friends level 24 frost mage so what attacks should I do in what order? I’m hopeless when it comes to mages.
Try to start from sheep.
Spellsteal as you strafe, especially against palladins.
Dont cast any nukes unless you know you have 2+ seconds you wont be interrupted.
Dont be afraid to run
Dont be afraid to cast polymorph even if your opponent is almost dead.
Stay away from DK’s in a group, Deathgrip into a mob of warriors/palladins is no fun
Try to anticipate your opponents move and save your counters for such
Dont run away from a hunter EVER (unless you have a melee friend to jump on him)
Spellsteal Hot’s from restodruids and you can at least earn a draw.
Arena is ghey
The whole idea of mages is to stay at range.
You can go Frost to slow enemies approaching you, or Fire to blow them up before they hit you.
Start from as far away as possible and shoot a frostbolt>fireball>fireball. Probably almost dead now so either wand it down or scorch (fireblast uses more mana). If it closes too fast, which is common, Frost Nova it to fire the final shots.
Have points in faster Fireball and in the end you can go Pyroblast>fireball> frost nova> fireball>scorch>dead
Main thing with mages is to minimise down time drinking, so kill stuff as you run about and avoid the instant spells except in emergiencies.
You don’t get spellsteal till after 60 btw other poster. But yes, if you have two enemies, polymorph one. You should run when you have to which is frost nova>blink> cone of cold if needed. But when played right, I rarely die on my newly levelling second mage.
